CHRISTMAS 10K - SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
The Christmas 10K Swim is WA's premier 10km Rottnest qualifying swim - enjoyed by more than double the number of swimmers of any other 10km race in WA because of its unique approach of "swimmers first" and a focus on creating an event "by swimmers for swimmers".
Our 10km swimmers are offered a long 3.4km circuit and this event is the only one in WA where swimmers can be accompanied by their own personal support paddlers for the full 10km of the race - the best possible preparation and practice for a Rottnest swim crossing!
But it is not just a 10km qualifier, the Christmas 10K Swim is also now firmly established as a fun and enjoyable community event which takes place at Coogee Beach on the Saturday before Christmas - this year offering two shorter distances to challenge community swimmers of all abilities:
- Port Coogee 1-Lap Cruiser (3.4km)
- City of Cockburn Merry Mile (1600m)
We expect to reach capacity in all events so save the date(s) and ensure you register early.
This year we have also secured a contingency date on Sunday 17 December which will only be activated if the weather forecast is unfavourable and a decision is made that it is unsafe to go ahead with the event on Saturday 16 December.
Please make sure you save both dates although we're hoping for perfect conditions after last year!

The experienced team behind the Christmas 10K just simply love swimming and organising events so they created this event for you, the swimming community. It's a cracker of a swim run by swimmers, for swimmers. We are all looking forward to the biggest and best ever Christmas 10K on Saturday 16 December 2023.
Qualify for Your Rotto Swim
The Fremantle Ports 10km Challenge is an approved qualifier for your Rottnest Channel or Port to Pub solo swim.
Come along and join the most popular 10km qualifier in WA at the perfect location of Coogee Beach and at the perfect time, a week before Christmas. Your official time will automatically be recognised and forwarded to your designated event manager.
Ocean Swim Packs
Successfully introduced to the swimming community at the 2021 event, Sportzcorp's Ocean Swim Pack will again be on sale.
Based on our own Rottnest solo experiences, the Ocean Swim Pack is the perfect combination of essential items to help you with your long distance swimming needs before, during and after your 10km and Rottnest races.
This great value pack includes a 5L dry bag, Fiski goggles, Ocean Grease and a smorgasbord of other items you'll use before, during and after your swim.
Sportzcorp's Ocean Swim Pack is available to buy through the online entry process and is also available in-store at Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee and Blooms The Chemist Joondalup.

Practise with Your Paddler
Take up Your Own Challenge
Like no other 10km race in WA, all swimmers in the Fremantle Ports 10km Challenge have the option of swimming alongside their own personal support paddler for the entire course.
Great for moral support as well as the best opportunity for feeding practice, hydration and in-race communication with your paddler.
This year's event will once again be offering shorter races for community and club swimmers so challenge yourself by taking part in the Port Coogee 1-Lap Cruiser (3.4km) or the City of Cockburn Merry Mile (1600m).
Ideal for anyone looking for some pre-Christmas exercise which gives you a good excuse to enjoy the Christmas festivities, eat, drink and be merry and wind down afterwards (maybe) with a few days off?!

In an event first for us, ALL of this year's 10km Challenge swimmers will receive a complimentary Christmas 10K black t-shirt which is included in the 10km entry fee. Additional black t-shirts are also available to purchase online.
The Christmas 10K merchandise range also includes a black C10K Silicone Swim Caps as well as "event specials" on the best equipment essentials to help support your training and racing.
SaferSwimmer Open Water Float - for your training sessions and races without a kayak by your side, your new "must-have" item is a SaferSwimmer Float. "Be seen and be safe" with this fluoro orange flotation device with in-built waterproof storage to improve your visibility and safety during longer open water swims.
Fiski Goggles - a proud Perth company, Fiski goggles has been a partner of the Christmas 10K for several years. Loved by open water swimmers, Fiski goggles provide comfort and great visibility at a terrific price.

C10K & Second Harvest
Helping Others
The Christmas 10K is once again proud to be supporting the amazing work of Cockburn-based charity Second Harvest. Last year's event raised $2000 for this amazing organisation and we hope, with your help, that we can better that this year.
Make a donation through the online registration process or drop off goods at the race day Collection Point. All items will be used for emergency relief packs or as sale items in the Second Harvest op-shop to assist families in need.
Examples might include stationery, non-perishable grocery items (cereal, tinned food, biscuits, baby formula) & personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, combs, toilet paper, sanitary items).
Any new or second-hand clothes in good condition will also be accepted.
No donation is too small and every donation makes a huge difference, so help us help others through the amazing work of Second Harvest.
